Google Search and Google Now Are Smarter Than Ever

Google took the stage at Google I/O to discuss the progress of Knowledge Graph and Google Search. Search is now smarter than ever and can compare answers to your questions with other answers it think you might ask. If you’re wondering the population of India, it will also show you the population of China and America, since most people often ask that next, according to Google’s data.
It’s even including new features that are very similar to Google Now into search. You can search for “photos of my vacation” and they’ll pop up. Ask about your flight to Orlando, or even ask where your package is, and if it knows the data it will provide it. You can also receive a spoken response and speak your questions using a microphone. Conversational search and hot-wording—you don’t have to click the mic to search just start by saying “Ok Google” and it will know that you’re about to ask a question.
All of this is coming to desktops and laptops through the Chrome web browser today.
FInally, Google said it will soon allow you to set reminders in Google Now and it will provide them when you’re available. TV shows, music, video game and public transit cards are also now supported by the software.

Samsung Flexible Display Phone

Samsung has really got a good position in the market. Though they are very much creative at the beginning, most of the people were aware of their creativeness only after days since they started making Android smartphones. Recently, there was a talk about Samsung Galaxy S3. It really had good features than a iPhone. As it was powered by Android, it had large number of applications on Google Play Store. The phone was also available in reasonable price than any other phone which just acted as a status symbol to the people. In the CES 2013, Samsung has showed two different smartphones which can be bent. They used a Samsung Flexible Display on the phone.
Brian Berkeley, Senior Vice President at Samsung showed off Samsung Flexible Display Phone. He introduced two smartphone in which the screen can be bent. The first one was flexible enough. A display screen was lifted from a small storage medium. Though the screen can’t be taken out completely, it was flexible. He said that it can’t be rolled or made like a pipe. but it can be bent to certain amount.

The another phone was actually like a small book where the screen was bent at one end. The advantage of using this phone is that, you can look at the text notifications without even having to open the phone. Actually, you can look the whole screen only when you open the book. When we look at the right side of an ordinary book, we could see the bunch of pages. Here, in this phone we could see the screen that displays text notifications in a marquee scrolling style.

The technology used on the screen is quite different than any other mobile screen. Here, instead of a glass, they had used a flexible plastic and thus we can easily bend the screen. They use a OLED or Organic Light Emitting Diode as a display medium.
Advantages: The phone might be smaller when compared to other smartphone. Instead of having a bigger screen inside a pocket, you can just insert them in a storage medium and have it in your pocket. this may not damage your display screen too.
Disadvantages: The phone should come in a neat and well packed manner because, it is said that if any leakage occurs from the display screen, it might harm the environment particularly, it is much reactive towards oxygen. Complete and well sealed displays might keep the environment safe but that cannot be assured to 100%.
Release of Samsung Flexible Display Phone: Samsung has not yet released this smartphone. Considering the disadvantages, Samsung might want to overcome certain things. Samsung has not yet announced any release date for Flexible Display phone. But some sources says that it may bring this technology to people.

Google Apps and chromebooks to the Classroom

The web has become an incredible resource for the classroom, offering tools to work collaboratively, share and research. School systems of all sizes from a single primary school to an entire country such as the Philippines have “Gone Google” in their schools and embraced the web to transform education.

Today the country of Malaysia is going a step further by adopting Google Apps for 10 million students, teachers and parents. As part of this initiative they are also deploying Chromebooks to primary and secondary schools nationwide. These efforts to integrate the web are a central part of a national plan (PDF) to reform its educational system.

To deploy technology across a nationwide school system, computers need to be simple, manageable and secure. Chromebooks are ideal for learning and sharing in the classroom—there’s nothing complicated to learn, they boot up in seconds and have virus protection built in. They also offer easy setup and deployment, which means they’re ready to go the moment a student opens the lid and logs in. And with reduced overhead costs, Chromebooks are a cost-efficient option* to deploy technology at scale.

To date, more than 3,000 schools worldwide, from Edina, Minnesota to Point England, New Zealand, have deployed Chromebooks to improve attendance and graduation ratesmake learning more fun and enable students to take more ownership for their learning.

The web gives our children and students new opportunities to access the world’s information and work collaboratively. We look forward to working with national and regional leaders to make the most of the web with Google Apps and Chromebooks and help them provide the best opportunities to every student.

*In research sponsored by Google, research firm IDC found that Chromebooks yield three-year cost of ownership savings of $1,135 per device compared to traditional PCs or tablets, require 69% fewer hours to deploy and 92% fewer hours to manage. Learn more.( PDF file)Read this Document To Very Helpful . . . .

Larry Page

C.E.O. and co-founder of Google, Larry Page, recently sat down with Wired for an interview. Although not unexpected, one of the first topics discussed was Apple. To be more specific, Wired asked Page about his thoughts on Steve Jobs’s comments about waging “thermonuclear war” on companies who Apple believed was copying its designs and using already patented ideas.
When asked about Jobs’s comments, Page responded with “How well is that working?” Google and Apple have been battling each other directly in terms of smartphones, operating systems, and patent wars recently. Page and others have criticized Apple about its use of patents to push other technology manufacturers out of the way.
Although Page doesn’t seem too fond of Apple’s court battles, he did admit that Apple has done some things very well.
You know, we always have these debates: We have all this money, we have all these people, why aren’t we doing more stuff? You may say that Apple only does a very, very small number of things, and that’s working pretty well for them.”
What do you, the reader, think about Page’s comments? Is he right, or is Apple succeeding in their court battles and “thermonuclear war?” Let us know!

Assassin’s Creed IV

Ubisoft released a brand new gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. This one’s called “Under the Black Flag.”
Since its announcement, this is probably the most substantial gameplay trailer that we’ve seen forAssassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Call me cynical, but this looks like just another entry in the now rote series…except with more water.
Of course, we’re looking forward to what Ubisoft’s studios are doing to make Black Flag a reality. It’s just that Assassin’s Creed III, what with its vast amount of glitches and loosely tied together mechanics, left a bit of a sour taste in our mouths.
Hopefully that will be washed clean with the salty water of naval combat in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
This title is set to drop for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PC, PlayStation 4 and whatever Microsoft has set up for the follow-up to the Xbox 360 on November 1st, 2013. We’ll have more as it comes.

Education goes Google

Editor’s note: Today’s guest post is authored by Reynaldo D. Laguda, Assistant Secretary and ICT Chairperson of the Philippines Department of Education (DepEd)

How do you connect 45,000 schools, 200 divisions and 600,000 staff across more than 7,000 islands? (Hint, it’s not with lots of boats). The answer we came to at the Philippines Department of Education (DepEd) was to move our systems into the cloud with Google Apps for Education. DepEd was looking for solutions to solve the day-to-day challenges of managing a large and complex national education institution with less than perfect technology. DepEd didn’t have a central email system  staff used personal email accounts. And although DepEd sent memos to district offices or posted website updates, we lacked a unified and reliable channel to communicate and connect with each other.

The benefits of moving to Google Apps for Education extend beyond improving our communications. Many of our teachers working in remote areas without reliable internet infrastructure access the web via mobile devices or Internet cafes. Moving content back and forth can be difficult and disk corruption or computer failure is common. With all DepEd’s content now in the cloud — 17 petabytes of storage devoted to teachers alone — staff no longer need to worry about keeping track of their data across multiple devices. They’ll now be able to access all the material they need from any device that has an Internet connection.

DepEd Secretary Br. Armin A. Luistro FSC sends the first official email on Google Apps for EDU

The days of physically sending reports or curricula across the far reaches of the archipelago and hoping for the best are gone too. Switching to cloud based collaboration tools means everyone, from the DepEd Secretary to teachers in Kalinga province, will be able to access whatever they need from wherever they are. What’s more, they’ll be able to work together in real-time using Google Docs, Google Groups and Google Sites.

As the nation’s educators, we understand the importance of technological literacy for our students and believe that teachers should lead by example. And moving to Google Apps for Education comes at the right time. Going Google gives us the technology we need to meet the goals of "GO! Education" – a national initiative designed to improve educational access and quality in the Philippines. We’re delighted to be joining 16 million teachers and students around the world who are already using Google Apps to work more efficiently and collaboratively, and to be bringing 7,000 islands into the cloud with us.

Google Play for Education

Google said during Google I/O 2013 that educators put the task of bringing affordable and practical mobile tech to school systems. Google agreed, and today announced Google Play for Education. A teacher can choose an application and it can be installed on every student’s Android device. Schools can set a budget and purchase bulk orders for apps, books, YouTube educational videos and more and push everything to tablets.
There are already pilot sites using the new technology, six elementary schools in New Jersey used 550 different third party apps in a single day pilot. Google’s bringing it to schools but now it wants developers to focus on creating the awesome and innovative educational content.
Google Play for Education will launch in the fall but apps can be submitted this summer.1

Google Unveils Android Studio, New Android Development Environment

At Google I/O, the company has unveiled a new Android development environment today called Android Studio. Built off of the IntelliJ IDEA, the Eclipse replacement will feature things like multiple layout tools for a range of devices. Tweaks and app revisions to Android code show up in real time inside the development console, and Google says several services, including Cloud Messaging, will be integrated into the environment. The idea is to offer a single hub that devs can use to revise old apps or build new ones. And that’s just scratching the surface, as Hugo Barra, VP of Android product management, says more changes will be on tap.

Android Studio

Earlier this morning in San Francisco at moscone center, Google I/O 2013 is happening right there. we were expecting a lot of new technologies from Google, all of the sudden there was a pretty huge changes rolling out with every possible medium over a night. Especially i was thinking about the new and latest product of Google Glass and Android new Version. But there was no much talk about the Google Glass and Android New Version Lime Pie, instead they were talking about the new Android App – IDE.
Well, here is it “Android Studio” is right now available in developer.android.com for Mac, Linux, and Windows. So, move a head to download and see How the Android Studio is working.
Why Android Studio ?
We know that the Eclipse is helping you a lot to integrate the Android SDK and so you can easily create our own app’s. But Google thinks that they are not going to overload Eclipse by downloading the SDK bundle and then integrate and work on the app. So, this is the First IDE for the Android, Completely worked by Google from the scratch to help the Students, Developers who are interested in Creating innovative app’s.
Thanks to Android, Google Inc.
